Project Name: Unconditional Seasonal Support (UCSS) Funded by WFP (Paktika Province)

Information: This ORD/WFP project provided 9500 vulnerable households, including those affected by conflicts, earthquakes, and drought, to prevent extreme food insecurity in Paktika province


Project Name: Promoting Ecosystem-based Adaptation & Resilient Livelihood (PEARL) Funded by UNDP (Balkh and Samangan Provinces)

Information: ORD, NCA and UNDP work to enhance community resilience through lifesaving humanitarian assistance and strengthened livelihood coping capabilities. This project aims to support highly vulnerable groups (women, girls, marginal farmers, etc.), using an integrated and environmentally sustainable intervention to strengthen socioeconomic recovery and resilience under strategies of: 1: strengthening community participation and social cohesion, 2: supporting women’s well-being and strengthening livelihood opportunities, and 3: promoting ecosystem-based adaptation for sustainable livelihoods.


Project Name: Climate Smart Economic Empowerment Funded by: NCA (Samangan)

Information: The project aims to support vulnerable HHs who are small-scale producers, right-holders, and those looking for jobs focusing on women, men, and youth in the target areas. Local economic empowerment has a significant impact on public health, poverty reduction, employment creation, smart production systems, business startups, education outcomes, and economic development


Project Name: Sustaining Essential Services Delivery Project (Support for Afghan People) Funded by: FAO (Farah, Paktika, Kunduz, and Faryab)

Information: This project provides emergency livelihood assistance for safeguarding food and nutrition security and ensures emergency agriculture livelihoods protection. About 100024 households received wheat cultivation packages, nutrition-sensitive kitchen gardening vegetable cultivation kits, livestock protection packages, poultry kits, small farming tools, and relevant technical training.


Project Name: Special Trust Fund for Afghanistan (STFA) Joint Program for the Northern and Southern Regions Funded by: FAO ( Sar-e-Pul Province)

Information: Under this project about 3150 stallholder farming and landless households received; emergency livestock, emergency and nutrition-sensitive home gardening packages, emergency nutrition packages, cash for work, backyard poultry packages, micro green/poly house kit package, relevant technical training and rehabilitated 10 critical small-scale community irrigation infrastructures. This project established common interest groups (CIG) to boost their own livelihoods.


Project Name: Emergency Food Security Project (EFSP) Funded by: FAO (Sur-e-pul, Zabul, Kandahar)

Information: ORD strives to restore production of food security crops for targeted smallholder farmers, through provision of paid work on the cash-for-work basis (CFW) and forms community –based drought warning systems--EWS. About 30,000 eligible households benefited from this project in three provinces in North and South.


Project Name: Quality Assurance and Third-Party Monitoring (TPM) Funded by: UNICEF ( 34 provinces)

Information: ORD in joint collaboration and partnership with UNICEF conducts independent monitoring (Quality Assurance) missions to Improve quality of the WASH services around the country. From January 2022 till the beginning of 2023, overall 4085 monitoring visits have been conducted by ORD TPM teams and technically inspected 873 WASH projects all over the country.


Project Name: WASH in ESNFI. Emergency Repairs, and Construction of New water Supply Schemes Funded by: AHF (Samangan, Jawzjan, and Paktika provinces)

Information: This ORD project undertakes water treatment/safe storage, hygiene promotion, and distribution of hygiene /water kits. It also takes over rehabilitation, construction/establishment of durable WASH facilities for 3,968 HHs (27,776 individuals).


Project Name: Transitional Shelter and Shelter Repair/Upgrade Assistance Funded By: AHF ( Farah and Sur-e-Pul and Samangan)

Information: ORD provided 266 new shelters/houses and repaired 1773 old shelters/houses in Farah, Sur-e-Pul and Samangan provinces, through three separate AHF project-interventions. Total 2039 households benefited from this assistance package.


Project Name: IPC Phase 3 and 4 Supporting food-insecure households with Cash for Food Assistance in Farah Province Funded by : AHF (Farah)

Information: ORD supported 1031 vulnerable households in IPC 3 and 4 with USD 371,160 in cash.


Project Name: Emergency support to protect livestock-based livelihoods of the most vulnerable food insecure herders in Ghazni Funded by : FAO ( Ghazni)

Information: livestock package comprising animal feed and dewormers has been distributed by ORD to support 4,650 of the most vulnerable households, aiming to enhance the well-being of their livestock.
